One of the biggest pluses this has going is the fact that it is somewhat (maybe a lot in some cases) nerve-racking to get yourself out and attend one of these events, but that's the thing... it weeds out only the very serious people looking for a relationship. It also eliminates the guess work of the other person being open to a date. I think you have a great idea. Thanks for all the hard work and preparation so others can have some hope... you have a good heart!

I wanted you to know I think the speed dating you put together is a wholesome and organic way to help people break the ice, you guys should keep doing it.

  • Buy a ticket, prep some questions, dress in casual attire.

  • Arrive in time to park downtown, grab a drink, and begin to socialize at 7pm.

  • Speed dating will begin at 7:30. You will talk to up to 15 friends over 90 minutes, changing partners every 6-7 minutes.

  • Fill out your Matchcard and turn it in at the end of the night. 

  • Host will match couples and send out an email within 24 hours.

The Venue

About Us

The Center for Disease Control has reported that human connection leads to longer life, better health, and strong feelings of belonging. In our social media and online dating age, the human spirit is flailing. Back to the Basics was created to encourage the innate need for human interaction. We create a fun space for singles to meet face to face with the goal of promoting social connection, and maybe even finding the one.

 

We believe that even if you are not actively looking for a mate, you will leave our events feeling full and refreshed. You will have real, controlled conversations with potential friends, maybe a networking pal, and most ideally, future dates! Mental health will improve. Smiles will pervade. Joy will fill our room. And if you're tempted to just stick with online dating, consider this...can you feel chemistry through a screen?
